Sohail Muhammad Ali has been involved in the corporate and development sectors since 1989. Presently, he is teaching at Iqra University as an adjunct faculty.  He has also worked as an adjunct faculty at SZABIST, PAF-KIET, and Muhammad Ali Jinnah University.

He represented Pakistan in programs such as Muslim Civilization at AKU-ISMC London (2006 – 2008), International Adolescent Education Program (IAEP) in Mombasa (Kenya), 8th Global Leadership Forum in Istanbul (Turkey) (June 2006) and International conference on education in London (April 2001).

Sohail Muhammad Ali has worked as a consultant with various organization which includes GEO TV, International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), International Textile Limited (ITL), Training Resource Group (TRG), Aga Khan Foundation, Pakistan (AKF), Transparency international, Lead Pakistan, National Rural Support Program (NRSP), Research & Development Foundation (RDF), British Council Pakistan, Network of organizations Working for people with Disabilities Pakistan (NOWPDP)  and Express channel.

He has been invited as a guest speaker at prestigious national and international institutions like Aga Khan University, Institute of Educational development (AKU-IED), Institute of Business Administration (IBA), AIESEC, etc.     

Sohail M. Ali has a Master degree in International Relations (from Karachi University). He also has done Advance Diploma in Management from The Aga Khan University- Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED).
