6 Insights to Sustain as an Elite Performance

Purpose is the engine that drives Elite performance whereas Passion is the fuel to do so.

As an elite performer you know the way and you show the way almost every time. Your Goals are set, and your vision is clear. Your focus is on achieving targets every year, every quarter, every single month!

Yet, each of us wants to find greater meaning in our lives. Each of us has dreams that we want to come true.

Each of us has fears that limit us. When we are not on our Top Game in our personal lives, we not only betray ourselves – we deny the people that we work with as well as the people that we serve the opportunity to witness our flawless potential.

Indeed, the world will be a lesser place if each of us did not raise our standards and become the people we know in our hearts we are meant to become.

For your benefit, I have filtered a few thoughts on how you can sustain to be an Elite performer in every aspect of life.

01. Develop Learning Agility

This is the process of metamorphosis and bringing into the spotlight of who and what you are and what you want to be. As you travel this road, you learn more about yourself and how you can continue to achieve certain goals throughout your life. This journey is about the growth of you as an individual.

When you started your career, you were not what you are today. Your perception of the world, your grooming, your friends, your financials and how to maintain it, have changed. In short you have molded yourself, made yourself more flexible for morphosed / Unpredictable economic condition.

Continue to learn, change – Remember this is how life is!

02. Elite performers have challenge for breakfast.

Once we achieve our targets, we tend to rest, relax a bit, in the process we falter in our focus. We get in our comfort zones and it results in complete denial of personal responsibility. We start blaming others for what is not working within the organization. Pointing the finger when things go wrong.

Realize that if every challenge you face was someone else’s responsibility, then what’s your purpose in that organization? Go home – right now! Remember, the problems you will face represents opportunities in disguise and they identify areas for you to grow. In the end, you will appreciate your victories substantially more due to the work you put into overcoming them.

Take the challenge as a tipping point of success, dive deep into it, get obsessed by it, overcome it! Working from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm is mediocrity. It’s not for an elite performer like you. Remember that in that entire process you will either win or you will learn.

“Remember no one builds an empire by working 9 to 5.”

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. – Alvin Toffler

03. Build your Empire on your Strengths

Most people try to be all things to all people and, in doing so, they achieve nothing. Elite performers understand what they love, what they are best at and make it their highest priority and an acute awareness of the best use of their time. In fact, they build their whole lives around the activities that offer them the highest return on investment. They build their strength areas to such an extent that they become a complete champion. No one talks about their weak areas because they are busy raving about their strengths.

“The key to human development is building on who you already are.” – Tom Rath, Strengths Finder 2.0

04. Your life ROI - Start Investing in Relationships

Business is about connections. Nothing is more important than building emotional engagement with your teammates, with your suppliers and with your customers. People value your relationship more than anything else. Show up fully in your relationships. Take the time to remember birthdays and write handwritten thank-you notes each week. Remember to show people that you are compassionate. Open your heart to them and they will reward you with their loyalty as well as with their love.

“The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships.” – Tony Robbins

"No human relation gives one possession in another—every two souls are absolutely different. In friendship or in love, the two side by side raise hands together to find what one cannot reach alone." - Khalil Gibran

I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of, so they can see that it's not the answer. – Jim Carrey

05. Reconnect with Brilliance – “Yourself”

Genuine progress originates from internal achievement. Nothing changes until you change. We live in an externally focused world where we think everything could be bought by money. Money has become the quintessential thing for success for most of us in today’s time but many people who have achieved that feat are unhappy and empty.

“Commit to CANI! – Constant and Never-ending Improvement.” – Tony Robbins “One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so, when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don't invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.” - Michelle Obama

Dedicate yourself to getting to know who you truly are. Reconnect with your brilliance. Evaluate the quality of your life and what you want it to stand for. Reflect on the beliefs that are limiting you and ponder where you’ve

06. Remain H-C-H

H-C-H in chemistry stands for Hexachlorocyclohexane a compound which is used to kill pesticides and treat disease of human skin. Similarly, in an Elite performer similar bonds are needed but this time H-C-H (Humble – Confident – Honest) Compound is used to kill the negatives in an individual personality.

A compound so rare in Elite performers that you can easily identify someone who is lacking it. Enable yourself to be Humble and empathize with people. Be honest with yourself, with your work, with your clients and colleagues and lastly be confident about the life you are living and the work you are executing. Remember this H-C-H Compound in Elite Performer can really be a Game changer.
